Today in class we reviewed density. I only had one day to spend on it and found a great resource from TPT on finding the density of an unknown element.
The lab allows you to either print out the cards and answers document for each student, or set it up at a station lab around the room where each station is a different unknown element. I really like the fact that it also hits element properties and metals, nonmetals and metalloids.
There is a 'special' periodic table that has the density of each element on it. The students use this table once they find the density to determine what the mystery element is. I set it up where the students each had their own pack and worked on it in pairs rather than move around the room. If I had more time I would have done it as a lab station and tried to find the real products to put at each station. They had a lot of fun with it and I highly recommend it if you teach density.
The seller has 3 variations of the element cards. You can buy them from his TPT store. My honors classes got through all 3 packs, but the on-level classes only did 2.
