5 Ways to use Riddle.com for Formative Assessments

I ran across a really cool little piece of technology today, and it got me thinking about how a teacher could use it in the classroom. Riddle allows user to create beautiful and interactive content in a matter of minutes. I setup a riddle below with a few questions to show you how it works and what it could look like in your classroom.

I think this type of tool would be great for formative assessments.

5 Ways to Use Riddle.com for Formative Assessments

  1. I could see it being used for warm-ups.  I don't know about your students, but mine hated doing warm-ups.  If you could throw some technology into the mix you may be able to get them more excited about it.
  2. During a lecture.  This would be a great tool to gauge understanding after while you are in the process of teaching a new concept.  Students will pay more attention if they know they are going to have to respond to an upcoming question.
  3. You could easily use this technology for a quick quiz or daily grade
  4. I could see this being setup at one station if you had a lab station day.
  5. What's the point of teaching class if you don't know if the students are understanding the information? Why not use it as an exit ticket out the door.  It could give you one last opportunity to correct any misconceptions.

There are options to create Riddle's beyond the multiple choice style questions. They have options for opinions, personality tests, lists, and commenticles (gauging public opinion on a topic).

You can two fields of information like full name and class period and have the results emailed directly to you.

Take the quick quiz below (only 4 questions) and see what it looks like. How could you use this in your own classroom?
