CONTINUECOLLAPSE!
Welcome to COLLAPSE!, the game where you try to build a balanced ecosystem.
Every ecosystem has different types of organisms.
Producers make their own food, usually from sunlight. All plants are producers.
Primary consumers, like rabbits, only eat producers as food.
Secondary and tertiary consumers are predators, like eagles, and eat creatures to get energy. Some also eat plants.
If an ecosystem has too many consumers for the available food, they are in trouble!
Without enough producers to eat, the primary consumer population with struggle to survive.
With too few consumers to eat, the predator population will struggle to survive.
The game starts with four primary consumers and twenty producers in the ecosystem.
To have a stable consumer population in this ecosystem, you must have two producers for each primary consumer.
Each turn, turn over a COLLAPSE! card to show whether you are rolling for producers or consumers. Then roll the die to add producers or consumers to your energy pyramid.
If you add too many primary consumers, your producer population will collapse!
To win, your ecosystem also needs predators. You must have at least five primary consumers for each predator you add.
Be careful when choosing to roll for predators! Too many predators will make your consumer population collapse.
If you add too many primary consumers, your producer population will collapse!
